Getting started

I’m a rising senior in college, which for most pre-meds, means I should be in the midst of my application process to med schools. However, I’m sort of on a different track. I quickly found out that life wouldn’t be so clean-cut for me; I wasn’t going to go to undergrad, take the MCAT, and then head to medical school. Instead, I’m trying to enjoy my undergraduate years to their fullest, having finally come to terms with the fact that I’ll need to take a couple of years before applying to medical school. While it still scares me every day, I know that all I want is to be a doctor, and I’ll do what I have to to reach that goal. I started this blog primarily to just throw out my thoughts about everything in this process. It’s far too much for one post. But hopefully, I’ll be able to share my neverending, crazy journey, and someone will read this and realize it’s okay to take a different path to get what you want. I’ll end on a quote I found the other day thanks to my roommate – who also has a blog on here 🙂

“If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.”

-Flavia Weedn

Until next time 🙂
